If you use another browser then use the appropriate commands to download and save a file to disk, rather than download and run. These instructions are for Internet Explorer. NTFS-3G works perfectly happily with the NTFS no compression system and you will be able to read from and write to such partitions. Therefore, what you can do will be limited to read only of NTFS with compression partitions. This is because NTFS-3G, the Linux driver to work with NTFS partitions, will not be able to write files to NTFS with compression partitions. The most common option is that Windows 7 is installed on NTFS without compression, in which case the following note does not applyĭual booting Linux with Windows 7 on an NTFS drive with compression is not recommended.
